Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has approved the extension of services for 229 contractual Craft Instructors (CCIs) in the city’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) for the academic year 2024-25. The extension will be effective from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025, ensuring the continued availability of instructors in 19 Government ITIs.This decision follows a request from the Department of Training & Technical Education (TTE) due to a shortage of permanent trainers. The CCIs will handle both senior and junior trainee classes, crucial for the smooth functioning of vocational training courses.Craft Instructors specialize in hands-on training across various trades like mechanical engineering, electrical maintenance, and plumbing, playing a vital role in preparing students for industry-specific jobs. The extension ensures uninterrupted learning, allowing ITIs to effectively start the academic session without delays. This step highlights the government’s focus on maintaining quality technical education.
